What is ADVphilanthropy?

ADVphilanthropy Inc. is currently a for-profit philanthropic organization. We expect to have our not-for-profit, 501(c)3, tax-exempt status by July 2011.

ADVphilanthropy's mission is to "Inspire and empower athletes to integrate their passion with purpose."

In order to inspire athletes, we will sponsor ADVathletes from various adventure sports who vividly demonstrate the life changing impact and personal joy that comes from integrating passion with purpose.

In order to empower athletes, our web platform will combine information and social connections that will make it easy and exciting for athletes, charities and organizations to collaborate to do good works.

How did ADVphilanthropy begin?

The idea of adventure philanthropy developed from a desire to connect our passions (adventure sports) with a particular purpose (volunteering and helping others do so). For this reason Jeremiah Kavanaugh and Matt Ayers founded Adventure Philanthropy International. ADVphilanthropy provides guidance to athletes, connecting them with charities where adventure sports are located. As a result, adventure athletes will be empowered, instead of feeling unable to assist communities in need.

We hope our organization not only inspires adventure athletes, but all ADVphilanthropy followers, helping them integrate their passion with purpose.

Who are ADVathletes?

ADVphilanthropy will sponsor athletes from various adventure sports. These ADVathletes will vividly demonstrate the life changing impact and personal joy that comes from integrating passion with purpose. They will do this by volunteering with partnering charities and hosting ADVevents as they travel the world participating in their sport.

In addition, each ADVathlete will have their own Blog, Twitter, Photos and Videos, documenting their travels and "adventure philanthropy."

What are ADVevents?

ADVevents are events hosted by ADVathletes. These events provide an opportunity for our followers to participate in adventure sports and volunteer with ADVphilanthropy's partnering charities.

Where is ADVphilanthropy located?

ADVphilanthropy currently has no official headquarters. Its co-founders are the first sponsored ADVathletes currently traveling from Alaska to Argentina via motorcycle, and managing the organization on the road. ADVphilanthopy's employees, volunteers, sponsoring organizations, and partnering charities are located throughout the United States.

How does ADVphilanthropy raise funds?

Sponsorships and advertisements will become our primary sources of revenue, however, ADVphilanthropy is currently funded by generous donations from individuals and organizations like you.

How will ADVphilanthropy use donations?

Currently, donations will go toward our first operating year expenses. Once we have gained sponsorships or raised our first operating year budget, 100% of all donations will go toward philanthropic work.
